V8 – 528 Cubic Inches Max with screw blower. 565 cubic inches with roots blower.
Single camshaft, roller followers (lifters), with pushrods.
Compression: 11.4:1 up to 13:1
Hemispherical combustion chamber cylinder heads prefered by most teams (all cylinder head configurations allowed).
Rated at 3500 to 4000 HP @ 9750 rpm.
Maximum Torque –
Supercharged with Screw blower or Roots Blower, with constant flow mechanical fuel injection.
2 stage dry-sump oiling standard

Clutch

3 disc – 2 floaters – pedal clutch standard
Conventional style spring assist foot control launch – combined with (weight adjustable) centrifugal force levers.
