Pro Alcohol Drag Racing (PADR) officials are happy to announce that NGK will join the series as the official spark plug and ignition technology company.
“We are pleased to welcome such an iconic brand to Pro Alcohol Drag Racing, said Kevin Hool Founder and Director of Racing Operations for the PADR. We have used NGK Spark Plugs in our Top Alcohol Funny Car for 30 years and would not consider using any other plug”.
Hool Continued, “NGK is the leader in Alcohol Racing and I don’t know of any team in the Alcohol ranks that uses another Spark Plug. They are that good, and that reliable.
The stress level we place on spark plugs is tremendous. NGK delivers consistent performance run after run. With everything a crew chief has to worry about, it’s nice to know the plugs you are putting in the engine are going to perform.”
Jacklyn Donahue, Group Marketing Manager – Aftermarket Division NGK/NTK is excited about the opportunity to work with the new PADR organization.
“Alcohol Racing is an important racing category for NGK, said Donahue. The PADR Series sounds exciting. We are happy to see so many race teams and drivers working together to take control of their future. NGK will do whatever we can to support the series and the racers working to build a bigger and better future for Alcohol Racing.”
Donahue added, “We take great pride in being the Spark Plug of Choice for Alcohol Racers, from established championship teams to new teams in their first years trying to move their program to the next performance level. We are here to do what we can to provide every team with the Spark Plugs they need to be successful.”
In the challenging environment of supercharged, high compression, high RPM, methanol burning engines, the racer must have the best ignition technology components available. It is no secret why the top teams, and almost every team in this form of racing chooses NGK Spark Plugs.
NGK’s Donahue commented, “In the rapidly changing world of alcohol racing we work very hard to deliver the most comprehensive spark plug technology to all the Alcohol Racers we have come to know over the years. It’s with these relationships that we can help all racers get the best out of their engine combinations. We want to be a part of helping race teams of all sizes and experience levels become winning teams.”
Hool agreed, “Having industry partners that really care about the performance of your car is important. NGK has always helped race teams, regardless of size, gain access to the latest spark plug technology that helps them perform better at the track.”
Look for continued Partner announcements by Pro Alcohol Drag Racing and a Racing Schedule to be released in the coming weeks.
